Musicology Across Borders: An International Summit
Organized by the AMS Committee on the Annual Meeting and Public Events (CAMPE).
Marking the collaboration between peer musicological organizations at this annual meeting, this summit brings together leading musicologists from the AMS, IMS, ARLAC, and IMSEA for a cross-regional dialogue on the discipline’s shifting priorities and conditions of practice. Panelists from the Americas, Europe, and Asia will address topics such as emerging research and pedagogical trends, current pressures and opportunities in the field, the effects of socio-economic and political climates on musicological institutions and activities, and migratory opportunities for visiting scholars and international students. The discussion aims to offer a comparative snapshot of musicology today while identifying shared challenges, distinct regional dynamics, and possibilities for international cooperation.
